Measure first, polish second, document always.
Correction is where bad detailing does the most damage. Burned-through clear coat cannot be put back. We use ultrasonic paint thickness gauges before every job and again after every panel to log exactly how much material was removed.
- Pre-wash, decontamination and isopropyl wipe-down so what we see under the lights is the real paint condition.
- Test panel performed on a low-visibility area to confirm pad-compound combination.
- Single-, two- or three-stage refinement depending on defect depth.
- 5,400 K and 6,500 K cross-lit inspection lamps for honest swirl checks.
- Before/after micron readings on every panel logged against your registration.
- Optional ceramic coating in the same booking to seal the new finish.
What machine work can — and cannot — fix.
Swirl marks
The fine circular scratches from poor wash technique. Easily resolved with a single-stage polish.
Holograms & hazing
Left by aggressive rotary work elsewhere. A finishing polish on a soft pad is the typical remedy.
Water-spot etching
Mineral deposits that have eaten into clear coat. Usually correctable but needs measured passes.
Shallow scratches
If the scratch does not catch a fingernail it is almost always removable. Deeper marks may need touch-up paint.
Stone chips, deep scrapes through the clear coat, and rust on metal are bodyshop jobs, not detailing jobs. We will tell you honestly when that is the case and refer you to a trusted body partner.

What guests usually ask.
Will polishing thin my clear coat permanently?
Every polish removes a few microns of clear coat, yes. Factory clear coats are typically 35–50 microns thick, and a careful single-stage polish removes around 1.5–3 microns. That leaves plenty of material for the life of the car if you are not having it polished every year.
How often can paint correction be done?
If you protect the paint with a coating between visits, most cars never need a true correction again. If you do not, plan on a corrective polish every three or four years.
Can you fix damage from a tunnel car wash?
Yes — that is one of the most common reasons we are booked. We will measure the depth of the marring first and recommend single- or two-stage based on how aggressive it has been.
