From yellow & cloudy to glass-clear in one afternoon.

We refinish factory headlamp lenses instead of replacing them. A proper job costs a fraction of an OEM unit and lasts up to two years thanks to a UV-cured topcoat.

The method

Real restoration, not a quick toothpaste rub.

Hazing happens because the UV-protective layer on top of polycarbonate lenses degrades after years in tropical sun. To restore the lens properly, you have to remove the degraded layer and add a new one. Polishing alone returns the haze within weeks.

  1. Inspection & tape-up: surrounding bodywork is masked.
  2. Wet-sanding: progressive grits from 800 to 3000 remove all yellowing.
  3. Machine polish: two-stage polish to clear the sanding haze.
  4. Surface prep: IPA wipe and panel temperature check.
  5. UV-cured topcoat: a proper 2-component clear is brushed on under UV lamp for permanent bond.
  6. Cure & QC: 30 minutes lamp cure plus 4 hours touch-cure before handback.

Why bother

Hazy headlamps are not just a cosmetic issue.

!

30–50 % less light

Independent tests show oxidised headlamps emit roughly half the lumen output of clean ones. Night driving is measurably more dangerous.

!

Scattered beam pattern

Yellowing scatters light upward, dazzling oncoming traffic and reducing the focused throw your lamp was designed to produce.

!

Resale value hit

Most used-car appraisers deduct between RM 800 and RM 2,000 for a pair of oxidised lenses on otherwise good cars.

!

Expensive OEM replacement

A pair of factory lenses can cost RM 1,800 to RM 6,000+. Restoration delivers the same look for around a tenth of that.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

How long does the restoration last?

We cover the work with a 12-month written warranty. In practice, our UV topcoat tends to hold up for 18 to 24 months before any maintenance is recommended — significantly longer than polish-only methods that fade in weeks.

Can really old lamps be saved?

Almost always, provided the lens is intact and not internally cracked. If the haze is on the inside surface of the lamp we will tell you up front — that is a different repair.

Do you do this on motorbikes?

Yes. Sportbike and naked-bike clusters are handled the same way as automotive lenses, at the same prices.

An afternoon visit — that’s all it takes.

Drop the car off after lunch and pick it up before dinner. Bring an umbrella if it is raining, your bay will be indoors.
