Built in a garage, shaped by 4,800 cars.

Hivemint started as a weekend habit and turned into a studio because we kept saying yes to one more car. Here is how the team thinks, why we wash by hand and the equipment that does the heavy lifting.

Our story

From a two-bay shophouse to a full detailing studio.

In 2016 our founder, Daniyal, was a weekend hobbyist sharing a borrowed corner of a brake-shop in USJ. He kept getting referrals because the cars he washed actually stayed clean longer than the carpark next door. By 2019 we had moved into a dedicated bay; in 2021 we took over the Subang Jaya unit you can visit today.

Across that span we have written down every successful process and every mistake. The result is a small playbook that every detailer on the team is trained against, regardless of whether they joined yesterday or have polished thousands of panels with us.

Principles

Four habits we will not compromise on.

A

Touch the paint last

Anything that can be removed without contact — iron fallout, tar, bug protein — comes off chemically before a mitt touches a panel.

B

One car, one team

Your booking stays with the same two detailers from drop-off to handback. No relay races, no missed checklist items.

C

Document everything

Before, mid-stage and after photos are stored against your registration plate so we know exactly what each panel has been through.

D

Honest correction

If a defect is too deep for safe polishing, we will say so on the quote. Burning through clear coat is never an option.

The team

Salaried detailers, not commission hunters.

There are nine of us on the floor. Three are senior detailers trained internally and certified by Gtechniq and CarPro to apply their professional coating ranges. The rest are apprentices who train for six months on courtesy cars and washes before being allowed near a coating booth.

None of the team works on commission, which means there is no incentive to upsell. The most senior person on the bay is the one who tells you what your car needs, and what it does not.
